Job Responsibilities

(In-person Instruction)

Job Purpose:

Teach Mathematics courses to students in all academic programs at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

Job Functions:

Teaching Responsibilities
  • Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
  • Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

Instructional Development
  • Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
  • Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.
  • Prepare reports in cooperation with the Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the college or program.

Professional Development
  • Attend relevant professional meetings.
  • Represent the college positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Master's Degree in a related field AND a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Mathematics or closely related area is required. Unofficial transcripts are required when applying.

Preferred Qualifications

Master Degree in Mathematics and two (2) years teaching experience is preferred.
