We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer SME to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing complex network systems. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to ensure the seamless operation of network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Network Design and Implementation - Develop and implement secure, scalable, and reliable network architectures. • Ensure network infrastructure aligns with performance and reliability standards. • Network Management - Oversee daily network operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance. • Technical Leadership - Lead network-related projects, providing direction and mentorship to team members. Serve as the SME for advanced network systems, including Cisco, Stratix, Juniper, and Aruba devices. • Security - Design and maintain robust security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. • Documentation - Create and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and operating procedures. • Collaboration - Work closely with IT teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network services. • Continuous Improvement - Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. • Recommend and implement enhancements to improve network security, performance, and reliability. • Support - Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues, including after-hours support when necessary. Qualifications:
Required: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field. • Alternatively, 10+ years of documented relevant experience. • 8-10 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior role. • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS). • Expertise in network hardware/software (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet). • Proficiency in network security principles, cloud networking (AWS, Azure), and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V). • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Top-Secret Clearance required. Preferred: • Advanced certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP). • Experience in large-scale enterprise environments. • Familiarity with scripting/automation tools (Python, Ansible). Additional Expertise: • Developing network architectural diagrams and documentation. • Network monitoring and ensuring 99.999% uptime. • Troubleshooting and resolving network issues. • Communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences. • Implementing automation scripts and processes. • Supporting DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and DIARMF frameworks. • Utilizing DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). • DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification is mandatory.
