Description

The University of New Haven is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Mathematics beginning fall 2025. Teaching responsibilities include: Probability and Statistics, Financial Mathematics, and other courses in the Actuarial Science program to support students to take the associate level SOA credentialing exams. Additional teaching responsibilities could include Calculus I, II, and III. New hires are encouraged to collaborate with other departments such as Computer Science, Biology, and Engineering.

You need:
  • Candidates should have a PhD in Mathematics or Statistics and specialization in Actuarial Science, Probability & Statistics, Financial Mathematics is preferred. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience and commitment to teaching diverse student populations, student mentoring, effective instruction, and research. Candidates should have experience and knowledge of a computer-based statistical tool or a programming language such as R or Python, or other Statistical packages
