As a Supervisor in Aerospace Manufacturing, specializing in sheet metal mechanics, you will lead a designated production area, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output. Your role involves managing daily operations, including production scheduling, process development, employee training, and performance metric reporting. With a focus on continuous improvement and team empowerment, you will drive a culture of excellence in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Supervision: Oversee the daily activities of employees within your area, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and cost parameters. Provide guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Workflow Management: Develop and prescribe methods for employees to follow in their daily tasks. Monitor work flow to ensure production schedules are met and address any deviations promptly.
- Production Scheduling: Establish and distribute daily assignments based on the production schedule. Coordinate with other departments to maintain effective inventory control and resolve scheduling challenges.
- Training and Development: Assist in the training and development of team members, providing feedback and evaluation of performance. Foster a learning environment that encourages skill enhancement.
- Process Improvement: Utilize World Class Manufacturing (WCM) processes and Lean Manufacturing tools to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Monitor and evaluate production methods to establish standards that optimize operations.
- Operational Support: Provide guidance on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Product Process Specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Help estimate painting times and staffing requirements, regularly updating Production Management on progress.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and 5S standards. Monitor daily operations to uphold safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Profile and other information related to the position
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role; or a High School Diploma with 8 years of Sheet Metal Mechanic experience and at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) processes and Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Experience in a paint shop or with paint and sealant applications is a significant plus.
- Willingness to work any shift based on business needs.
- Six Sigma certification or experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
