Duties Manage the overall process of assigned Nuclear Employment Augmentation Team. Review and analyze Joint and DoD strategic military planning documents to identify implications for Army operations and subsequent Army requirements. Support Army efforts to ensure global nuclear targets are integrated and synchronized with war plans. Determines theater target support requirement. Represent the Army as a member of boards, committees and working groups formed to monitor, evaluate and prescribe guidance for nuclear strategy, plans, policy, doctrine and capabilities. Serve as an instructor for the Theater Nuclear Operations Course as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Position is designated Special-Sensitive Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Access (SCI) or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance/access. (See additional information) Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9. (See Additional Information) This position is Emergency Essential and considered essential to support the Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. (See Additional Information) One year trial/probationary period may be required. This position may require temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 25% of the time. This position is considered emergency essential because (1) no qualified and immediate replacement exists and (2) having the position vacant would (a) impair the effective operation of essential military support systems or (b) adversely impact the combat or peacekeeping mission of deployed forces. Failure of the incumbent to remain in this position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service (Chapter 75 File) (6 USC: FPM Chapter 752). In addition, DA civilians who occupy emergency essential positions overseas must sign a statement of understanding including that as a requirement of the position, they will remain in the event of hostilities or mobilization until relieved by proper authority. Emergency Essential employees may be required to undergo nuclear-biological and chemical training and to participate in readiness tests, mobilization, alerts, and field training exercises. Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location.
