Audubon is currently seeking a part time Laser Scanning Technician to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Laser Scanning Technician will support digital data acquisition in the field via performing high-definition laser scanning. Register scans for site, ensuring accurate orientation and positioning to be utilized within 3D models for design and fabrication purposes. Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely travel to job sites such as petrochemical plants, architectural renovation and construction sites, and other commercial buildings to perform high quality 3D laser scans
  • Evaluate areas and perform 3D laser scans as well as register scan after completion.(Faro, Leica and associated software for registering scan data)
  • Ability to complete required BASIC and Site Specific safety training as necessary.
  • Operate effectively within a 3D laser scanning team with minimum supervision
  • Focus on details in the facility and recognize areas that require additional scan coverage.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with using 3D laser scanners (Faro, Leica and associated software for registering scan data)
  • Candidate must be able travel to job sites such as petrochemical plants, architectural renovation and construction sites, and other commercial buildings to perform high quality 3D laser scans
  • Able to interpret drawings and site plans for area scan requirements.
  • Basic computer skills, word, excel, some CAD beneficial.
  • High school diploma required
