Staffmark has an excellent direct-hire opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager in Urbana, OH, ready to join a positive and collaborative team. We have partnered with a leading packaging provider, partnering with customers to deliver sustainable solutions to the food, consumer, agricultural, logistics, and environmental end-markets.

Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday (Possible weekends)
Salary: Based on experience

EHS Manager responsibilities:
  • Support and develop new safety and environmental programs while maintaining existing ones, in collaboration with the global community and local management teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors to procure supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ensure compliance with chemical management systems, hazardous waste protocols, and safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Conduct daily safety audits, facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings, and promote a safe workplace culture through incentives, coaching, and awareness campaigns.
  • Perform root cause analysis on EHS-related incidents, including injuries, illnesses, near misses, property damage, and hazards, while managing all aspects of Workers' Compensation.
  • Assemble, track, and report EHS metrics through production meetings, communication platforms, and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Organize and deliver EHS training, including new hire onboarding, emergency response, and compliance with regulatory standards for employee health and safety.
  • Maintain environmental management systems, permits, and plans, ensuring adherence to current industry regulations and implementing changes as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, ISO, OSHA, EPA, Federal Agency Communication Skills, Safety Management, EHS Coordination, experience with audits, health and safety implementation and training.
  • Professional certifications in Environmental Management, Occupational Health, and Safety, or related fields, considered a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related Safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastics industry.
