Faculty Position for Quantum Science

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for two tenure-track or tenure eligible faculty positions as part of a multi-year hiring initiative in quantum science. Particularly encouraged to apply are candidates with research agendas involving: (1) the development of or readout from quantum sensing platforms with potential applications to novel imaging techniques or studies of dynamical processes, or (2) quantum computing, including simulation, algorithms, cryptography, or information theory. The searches are open as to rank and the successful candidates are expected to be appointed in the Department of Physics, Chemistry or Biology for (1) and the Department of Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science for (2), with start dates of August 15, 2025. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in one of these fields or a closely-related discipline. Faculty will be expected to develop/maintain an internationally recognized research program, participate in future hiring associated with the initiative, teach undergraduate and graduate classes, and participate actively in their department, the College, and the University.
