The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (National MagLab) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in cryogenic electronics to facilitate a project aiming to design, build, and utilize several cutting-edge cryogenic preamplifiers that can function in a high magnetic field environment up to 45 T. The preamplifiers will improve measurements in various areas of research performed at the MagLab DC Field Facility. The position is for two years.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing, fabricating, and testing cryogenic preamplifiers.
  • Integrating preamplifiers into dedicated probes and optimizing these probes for specific experimental techniques, e.g., ultrasound, specific heat, capacitance spectroscopy, and shot noise.
  • Performing pilot tests and utilizing the completed probes in collaborative experiments with NHMFL internal and external users requiring improved signal-to-noise ratios.
  • Presenting research results at conferences, seminars, and workshops and contributing to scholarly publications.
