Physics and Environmental Science Laboratory Manager
The Physics Department and Environmental Science Program at Trinity College, Hartford, CT invites applications for a laboratory manager beginning no later than September 2017. The successful candidate will support the Physics Department and the Environmental Science Program in all aspects of their laboratory and equipment needs. The Laboratory Manager oversees the operation and maintenance of laboratory and classroom equipment/demonstrations, and operates and maintains the Physics Department machine shop. The Laboratory Manager serves as the principal source of technical information and assistance for faculty members, staff, and students.
Bachelor's degree (preferably in physics, engineering, or related field) with a strong background in physical science laboratory work and a good general knowledge of physics;
Knowledge of machine shop practice, experience with electronics and computers;
Must be able to set priorities on own initiative with minimal direct supervision and be able to adapt to changing priorities;
Must be comfortable working closely with students and faculty;
Driver's license and clean driving record are required.
Full-time, full-year position, level 14, minimum salary is $21.58 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
