: We are seeking a Biotechnology R&D Undergraduate Year Round Intern\. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing chemical pretreatment and conducting bacterial fermentation experiments\. Perform basic cell and molecular biology tasks such as plating cultures, collecting growth curves, enzyme activity assays, and assistance with molecular cloning is required\. Prepare reagents and controls using automated or fixed volume\-measuring devices\. Prepare protocols, logs and other documents for routine or special assignments\. Prepare and organize written data, reports, and other documents for assessing temporally\-dependent outcomes\. The candidate will present experimental results at group meetings and present a poster at the end of the internship session\. Required: The successful candidate must meet the following Sandia Student Intern Requirements: Official acceptance into an accredited university's undergraduate program, full\-time enrollment \(12 credit hours\), a minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.2/4\.0, the ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer\. Desired: Experience with basic genetic techniques, especially plasmid assembly and genetic transformation is highly desirable\. Experience in cell culture and molecular biology preferred\.
