The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) in Adelphi, Maryland is offering permanent positions for qualified junior and senior scientists to join its growing collaborative research program in quantum networking sciences. These permanent positions include on-site access to state-of-the-art research laboratories, advanced microfabrication (10,000 sq. ft., class-100 and 5,000 ft, class-10 cleanrooms), extensive infrastructure in optics, photonics, and electronics, high performance computing centers and opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers. ARL is seeking outstanding experimentalists and theorists with demonstrated experience in quantum entanglement, quantum networking protocols, and quantum information processing with laser-cooled neutral atoms, trapped ions, or other relevant photonic quantum systems.
Successful candidates will maintain a highly-recognized research program and participate in both intra- and inter-institutional academic and government collaborations involving substantial synergy between theorists and experimentalists. In addition to facilities at ARL, researchers will have the opportunity to work in affiliate laboratories located at the University of Maryland’s Joint Quantum Institute in College Park, MD. Strong candidates will have a degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience combined with an educational degree, an outstanding publication record in the quantum information sciences, and compelling letters of reference. USA citizenship is required. For consideration, please send your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org.
