The Department of Physics at The University of Texas at Austin offers six degrees in Physics. The Department of Physics at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking candidates for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to start September 2015. In special cases appointments at a more senior level will be considered. Each successful candidate will assume full teaching responsibilities for undergraduate and graduate courses and will conduct a vigorous research program. The research areas currently of highest priority are Ultrafast Science, Theoretical and Computational Plasma Physics, Quantum Condensed Matter Theory, Theoretical Biophysics/Soft Condensed Matter, High Energy Experiment, and High Energy Phenomenology. Outstanding candidates in other areas also may be considered. Excellent English language communication skills are required. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) and a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research.
