The Department of Physics and Astronomy of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, seeks candidates for a postdoctoral position focused on theoretical studies of nanostructures and nanocrystals.  The research group led by Alexander Govorov is working on optical properties of nanostructures and nanomaterials with emphasis on plasmonic nanostructures, hybrid nanoscale systems, quantum effects in plasmonic and excitonic systems, bio-inspired nanostructures, etc. There will be opportunities to interact with experimentalists. Further information about the research group is available at   Candidates should be highly motivated and have a strong background in theoretical condensed-matter physics, computational physics and in the physics of nanostructures.  A commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds is required.  The position is initially for one year, but may be extended for a second and third year, depending on performance and funding.  To apply for this position, use
