Applications are being accepted for an experimental postdoctoral research associate at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences (www.lps.umd.edu) in College Park, MD. Research will be performed in the area of superconducting quantum computing with a focus on custom superconducting devices and control of quantum systems, including that from materials-based tunneling systems and flux-based soliton phenomena. This position will provide an opportunity to work in an active research group (http://glue.umd.edu/~kosborn/; http://arxiv.org/find/all/1/au:+Osborn_K_D/0/1/0/all/0/1) and collaborate with nationally-recognized research institutions. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics or a closely-related field. Experience is required in data analysis, low-temperature measurement, device fabrication, electronics, and software-automated data acquisition. Interested candidates are invited to submit an electronic application to Dr. Kevin D. Osborn (firstname.lastname@example.org). Applications should include a CV, a list of publications, and the names of professional references. Salary and benefits are offered through the University of Maryland, an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. Applications are particularly welcomed from women and members of minority groups.
